  • NTT Data and Palo Alto Networks launch Managed Extended Detection Response (MXDR) service, providing AI-powered cybersecurity tools across enterprise systems.
  • MXDR, powered by Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex XSIAM, uses cybersecurity AI and expert digital forensics to accelerate threat detection and response.

What happened

NTT Data has reinforced its cybersecurity AI partnership with Palo Alto Networks, following their initial 2023 collaboration around the Managed Prisma solution. Now, the companies have unveiled Managed Extended Detection Response (MXDR) services, a new AI-powered cybersecurity tool designed to protect enterprise networks, edge systems, and cloud environments from evolving cyber threats.

With businesses under constant digital attack, many face challenges due to fragmented security infrastructures. NTT Data’s global head of cybersecurity, Sheetal Mehta, emphasized the need for unified solutions: “By partnering with Palo Alto Networks, we’re delivering a cybersecurity AI solution that strengthens cyber resilience, streamlines security operations, and improves overall agility.”

Why this is important

The MXDR service is powered by Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex XSIAM, an advanced Security Operations Center (SOC) platform that integrates AI. By combining cybersecurity AI-driven machine learning with the expertise of security managers and digital forensic analysts, MXDR is designed to reduce the time businesses need to identify and respond to cyber threats. With this innovative tool, the focus is on quick detection and remediation, enabling businesses to modernize their SOC and adopt a robust, adaptive approach to cybersecurity AI.

Kristy Friedrichs, chief partnerships officer at Palo Alto Networks, highlighted the importance of this comprehensive cybersecurity AI solution: “Organisations today are facing an unprecedented volume of sophisticated cyber threats across their entire operations.” The joint efforts between NTT Data and Palo Alto Networks aim to deliver an integrated cybersecurity AI solution that supports clients in protecting their essential operations with confidence.
