  • Nokia announced a new partnership with Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to jointly deploy 5G technology in Vietnam. This collaboration marks a new milestone in the long-term cooperation between the two companies and further strengthens their commitment to providing robust digital infrastructure in Vietnam.
  • Nokia will also produce its 5G products locally in Vietnam. This not only highlights Nokia’s long-term commitment to the Vietnamese market but also contributes to the local economic development and technological advancement.

What happened

Nokia is collaborating with Vietnamese operator VNPT to deploy 5G technology to expand connectivity in the region. As part of the cooperation agreement, Nokia will deploy equipment from its 5G AirScale portfolio. These devices are based on Nokia’s efficient ReefShark system-on-chip technology. It can provide excellent connectivity, low latency, enhanced network capacity, and reduced power consumption. In addition, Nokia will also deploy its AI-based 5G MantaRay network management solution. This can significantly improve VNPT’s network operation efficiency.

VNPT CEO Hu Guanglian stated, “Collaborating with Nokia will enable VNPT to rapidly deploy world-class 5G networks and meet the growing demands of our customers in Vietnam. 5G will serve as the foundation for driving Vietnam’s economic development and social progress, thereby accelerating its journey towards a digital economy.”

Previously, Nokia and VNPT had already collaborated to provide fiber broadband services in Vietnam. This cooperation will further strengthen the partnership between the two companies and provide strong support for Vietnam’s digital transformation.
