What happened

In a strategic move to bolster the UK’s fibre connectivity, Netomnia has joined forces with Strategic Imperatives through its recent merger with Brsk, becoming an integral part of The Fibre Café initiative. This alliance is set to expand the reach of Netomnia’s network by incorporating a wider array of ISPs as it continues to grow.

Together with Brsk, Netomnia has added 1.6 million premises to the platform, reinforcing its status as a leading, capital-efficient wholesale and aggregation platform.

Wail Sabbagh, Managing Director of Strategic Imperatives, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to have Netomnia on board with The Fibre Café. Their robust network and dedication to ultrafast full-fibre broadband are in line with our mission to streamline access to wholesale connectivity across the UK.”

The integration of Netomnia’s expansive network into Strategic Imperatives’ platform is a significant step towards the company’s goal of providing seamless and cost-effective services to wholesale providers, AltNets, and ISPs.

This move is expected to broaden the customer base for network owners and offer ISPs a diverse range of network and connectivity options.

Why it’s important

Jeremy Chelot, CEO of Netomnia and Brsk, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, saying, “The Fibre Café’s proven success in the wholesale market made this partnership an obvious choice for us. Joining forces allows us to explore new collaborations with ISPs and service providers, accelerating our onboarding process and connecting more homes to our full-fibre network.”

With an ambitious target to serve one million customers by 2028, Netomnia is already making strides with 162,000 customers currently on board.

Chelot is eager to work closely with Strategic Imperatives to deliver an exceptional internet experience, drive innovation, and encourage further consolidation within the altnet sector.

This strategic partnership is a testament to the commitment of both companies to transform the UK’s connectivity landscape, offering a unified gateway, API, and order journey that simplifies the process for ISPs and network owners alike.

As the fibre network expands, so does the potential for a more connected and technologically advanced UK.
