What happened: LS Cable joins Japan-Korea submarine cable project

LS Cable & System has announced its participation in the Japan-Korea Submarine Communication Network Construction Project (JAKO) alongside its subsidiary, LS Marine Solution. This initiative, led by a consortium including tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, aims to enhance digital connectivity between East Asia and North America.

The project will involve laying optical cables along a 260-kilometre route connecting Busan, South Korea, and Fukuoka, Japan, with construction set to begin in 2025 and completion expected by 2027.
