Add connection points to cope with increased interconnection demand

Digital Edge (Singapore) Holdings Pte. Digital Edge Corporation (Headquarters: Singapore, hereinafter referred to as “Digital Edge”) and Internet Multifeed Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, hereinafter referred to as “Multifeed”, announced that it has installed a new data centre at Digital Edge’s OSA1 Data Centre (hereinafter referred to as “OSA1”) located in Chuo ward, Osaka City. Continuous cooperation to promote the development of the Internet

Multifeed’s JPNAP service has connectivity points in five regions of Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sendai and Sapporo. JPNAP is currently the largest IX in Osaka, serving as an Internet interconnection environment for content providers and Internet service providers, but given the continued expansion of interconnection demand in the Osaka region, the company will expand the number of connection points in the Osaka region.

Digital Edge is one of the fastest growing data centre platforms in Asia, and OSA1 is strategically located in the Osaka Business Park in the Chuo district of Osaka, close to major network hubs in western Japan. Offering 2,900 cabinets and 14 MW of IT power, it is designed and manufactured to meet the latest demands of cloud, networking and enterprise customers for power specifications, reliability, security and environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals. Digital Edge’s ultra-fast, low-latency Cross LinkTM interconnect service and a wide range of connectivity options from third-party operators make connecting the OSA1 to major interconnect hubs simple and cost-effective.

Digital Edge and Multifeed will continue to work together to address the growing volume of Internet traffic, for example by expanding the interconnect base to improve connectivity and contribute to the further development of the Internet and increased reliability as a social infrastructure.
