What happened

AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X processor has demonstrated remarkable performance capabilities in its early stages, according to leaked Cinebench R23 benchmark results. Achieving a multi-threaded score of 48,011, the processor has already shown a significant advantage over Intel’s Core i9-14900KS. This promising start was further highlighted by tech influencer Ordinary Uncle Tony during a live event in China, where he pushed the processor to an astounding 6.5GHz. The overclocking efforts resulted in a multi-threaded score of 55,327 points, far surpassing the previous record set by the Ryzen 9 7950X.

The live event, part of China Joy, saw Tony initially warming up the processor at a 5.0 GHz clock speed, netting a score of 42,689 points. Gradually increasing the clock speed to 6.0 GHz resulted in 51,204 points, already breaking the previous world record. The final overclocking to 6.5 GHz secured the new high score, signalling the immense potential of the Ryzen 9 9950X.
