What happened: Airtel’s Indian subsea cable lands
Bharti Airtel has announced the landing of the 2Africa Pearls subsea cable in Mumbai, marking India’s 20th undersea cable. This cable is part of the 45,000 km-long 2Africa system, which, upon completion, will be the world’s longest subsea cable network. The 2Africa Pearls cable boasts a data transfer capacity of 100 terabits per second (Tbps), significantly enhancing international connectivity. Airtel collaborated with Meta and Center3, a subsidiary of the Saudi Telecommunications Company, for this project.
