    UN Internet Governance Forum to be held in Riyadh in December

    • Riyadh will host the 19th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held annually by the United Nations in December.
    • The IGF will bring together global experts to discuss and develop international policies and trends in internet governance in a collaborative manner.
    • The forum will highlight Saudi Arabia’s communications efforts, information technology and digital government.

    Global gathering on internet governance

    Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, will host the 19th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held annually by the United Nations. The five-day global gathering of technocrats, government officials and stakeholders will kick off on December 15, 2024 at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre. The IGF will bring together global experts to discuss and develop international policies and trends in Internet governance in a collaborative manner involving governments, the private sector and non-profit organisations. The IGF aims to discuss policy issues related to Internet governance, exchange experiences, information and best practices, and identify emerging digital challenges and solutions to strengthen international cooperation and raise awareness.

    Internet Governance Forum in Riyadh

    The forum will highlight Saudi Arabia’s excellence in communications, information technology and digital government, as well as its excellence in many areas, programs and initiatives in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The Forum also highlighted its leading role in promoting digital inclusion and bridging the global digital divide, contributing to building a prosperous and inclusive digital economy, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
