    • ARIN extended nominations for one NRO NC seat until 14 July, with the elected member starting their term in January 2026.
    • This seat helps preserve ARIN’s influence in global Internet resource governance and ensures continuity in regional representation.

What happened: Call for nominations extended for Number Resource Organization Number Council

On 1 July 2025, ARIN extended its nomination deadline for one seat on the Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC). The new closing time is 7 pm ET on 14 July 2025. The successful candidate will serve a three-year term beginning 1 January 2026, with the possibility of re‑election. Self-nominations are accepted from any eligible individual under ARIN’s nomination guidelines.

    Why it’s important

The NRO NC plays a vital role in coordinating Internet number resource policies among the Regional Internet Registries. Filling this seat ensures the ARIN region maintains its voice in global policy discussions and decisions around IP address management. Extending the nomination window offers more time for interested candidates to participate, which can enhance representation and the pool of expertise on the council.
