What happened: ARIN introduces IRR Auto-Manager in ARIN Online updates

On January 13, 2025, ARIN announced the addition of new features to ARIN Online, with the highlight being the IRR Auto-Manager. This new functionality allows organizations to selectively create auto-managed IRR route objects based on their current Route Origin Authorizations (ROAs) in ARIN’s RPKI repository.

Alongside the IRR Auto-Manager, ARIN has implemented minor updates and bug fixes to improve the overall efficiency and user experience of ARIN Online. These updates are part of ARIN’s commitment to streamlining internet resource management and ensuring the accuracy of routing information.

    Why it’s important

The introduction of the IRR Auto-Manager simplifies the process of maintaining IRR route objects, saving organizations time and reducing the risk of errors. By linking the management of IRR objects to existing ROAs, ARIN enhances the accuracy and security of routing information, which is critical for maintaining a reliable and secure internet infrastructure.

These updates also demonstrate ARIN’s focus on innovation and user-centered design, ensuring its tools remain effective for network operators navigating the complexities of resource management.
