What happened: APNIC tackles cybersecurity at CommunicAsia 2025
CommunicAsia 2025 took place from 27 to 29 May at ATxEnterprise in Singapore. The event brought together communication service providers, vendors, system integrators, and cloud providers. It focused on key tech trends like artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Attendees learned about developments shaping the future of the tech industry.

Why it’s important
The event highlighted the urgent need for businesses to address cybersecurity. Cybercrime continues to rise, making data protection crucial. But is simply educating employees enough to stop increasingly sophisticated cyber threats?
Emerging technologies, like AI and cloud services, offer great benefits. However, they also bring new security challenges. As businesses adopt these technologies, they must also address the risks they create. Are current strategies enough to keep businesses secure, or do they need to evolve faster to match emerging threats?
