What happened: Eric Hurkman named CTO at Savvy Wealth

Savvy Wealth, a U.S.-based digital wealth management platform for financial advisors, has appointed Eric Hurkman as its first Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Hurkman will oversee the development of product and engineering teams, focusing on product innovation, AI integration, and expanding Savvy’s technological capabilities over the next 12 to 18 months.

Savvy Wealth, founded in 2021, offers proprietary investment management solutions with automated tax-loss harvesting, rebalancing, and asset allocation. The platform also provides AI-powered tools for client relationship management, onboarding, and marketing. The company has been aggressively expanding, having raised $15.5 million in a Series A-2 funding round led by Canvas Ventures in August 2024. Additionally, it recently appointed David Weiner as Chief Growth Officer in February, further strengthening its leadership team.

Hurkman brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles. He most recently served as VP of Engineering at Carta, an equity management platform, where he had previously been CTO between 2014 and 2018. His track record also includes CTO roles at Say Technologies, a financial services platform acquired by Robinhood in 2021, and DrChrono, an electronic health records platform.

With Hurkman at the helm of technology, Savvy Wealth aims to enhance its platform’s AI-driven features and improve the efficiency of its wealth management services. His leadership will be instrumental in scaling the company’s engineering capabilities to support its growing client base.
