    • VSTECS has been named the authorised Starlink Distributor for Malaysia.
    • The partnership aligns with the government’s goal of achieving 100% internet coverage.
    • The distribution strategy leverages VSTECS’s well-established retail network.

    Strategic collaboration announced

On 29 January 2024, VSTECS Berhad signed a pivotal Distribution Agreement, gaining the status of an authorised Starlink Distributor in Malaysia. This significant partnership underpins the Malaysian government’s ambitious vision to achieve complete internet penetration across the nation, addressing both urban and remote areas. The introduction of Starlink, renowned for its high-speed, low-latency internet capabilities via advanced satellites in low Earth orbit, marks a transformative step towards enhancing nationwide connectivity.

    Enhancing national connectivity

This collaboration between VSTECS and Starlink is set to significantly impact Malaysia’s drive towards a fully connected digital economy. By harnessing Starlink’s cutting-edge technology, VSTECS aims to bridge the digital divide and accelerate the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint. The strategic use of Starlink’s services is expected to democratise high-speed internet access, making it available even in the most isolated regions, thus fostering greater inclusivity and connectivity.

The first official retailer, Harvey Norman, has already been appointed, with plans underway to expand the network of trusted retailers to ensure efficient and seamless deployment nationwide. JH Soong, CEO of VSTECS, commented on the collaboration: “We are confident that this partnership will be a game-changer for Malaysia, redefining connectivity for all Malaysians.” He further emphasized the potential of this initiative to propel the country into a new era of digital connectivity, positively impacting individuals, businesses, and communities.
