The THNIC Foundation, established in 2007, is a not-for-profit organisation focused on developing internet use and infrastructure in Thailand. Its main mission is to promote .th and .ไทย (dot Thai) domain names while fostering research in internet technology. The Foundation works to improve Thailand’s internet infrastructure, enhancing technological knowledge and internet speed.
THNIC designates T.H.NIC Company Limited as the official registrar for .th and .ไทย domains, managing registrations across seven categories. It also offers an email service for Thai users, allowing account names in Thai script, which boosts accessibility and community engagement.
In addition to domain registration, THNIC runs projects like BKNIX (Bangkok Neutral Internet eXchange) and Net2Home, aimed at improving connectivity. The THNIC Academy provides educational resources to promote digital literacy, playing a vital role in shaping the future of the internet in Thailand.
