MEASAT gains official reseller status for Starlink services

Strategic partnership announced

MEASAT Global Berhad, Malaysia’s leading satellite solutions provider, has formally partnered with Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) to distribute Starlink Hardware and Services in 11 January 2024. This agreement, which was solidified in December 2023, grants MEASAT the Official Authorised Reseller status in its service regions, signifying a notable expansion in its product offerings and strategic positioning within the industry.

Enhancing service delivery

This new status as an Official Authorised Reseller empowers MEASAT to consolidate its role as a comprehensive provider of satellite solutions tailored to meet diverse customer requirements. The collaboration with Starlink will leverage MEASAT’s strong market presence and robust customer service infrastructure. This includes a dedicated 24×7 helpdesk, local in-country support, and comprehensive onsite maintenance services. MEASAT’s customer base, which encompasses government, commercial, and rural entities, will benefit from enhanced access to Starlink’s advanced satellite broadband technologies.

Broadening technological horizons

MEASAT’s spokesperson expressed enthusiasm about integrating Starlink’s capabilities into its existing services, notably the CONNECTme NOW broadband initiative. This integration is set to improve high-speed internet connectivity for the final 3% of Malaysians without terrestrial links. Additionally, MEASAT anticipates that this partnership will enable them to offer more tailored and high-availability solutions across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Maritime, and Enterprise sectors, further broadening their service scope and technological reach.
