In a strategic move to modernise its administrative processes, Mali has launched the digitisation of national payment methods and public services, aiming to enhance the efficiency and convenience of government operations. The initiative, set to commence in the capital city of Bamako, encompasses a wide range of services including identity documents, police fines, civil status, and tax payments.
The president calls for enhanced cooperation among relevant agencies
The advent of electronic management has enabled digitisation to bring about economies of scale, particularly by cutting down on certain redundant costs at the national level. This aligns with President Assimi Goita‘s advocacy for all relevant entities to strengthen their “dedication and cooperation.” He has stated that the goal of the system is to “enhance governance and security” by “improving the tracking of administrative activities and increasing transparency and accountability.”
This new process will effectively combat fraud, corruption, nepotism, and the crime of forging administrative documents, while also improving citizens’ access to public and private services through more user-friendly digital services. Regardless of geographical location, it will be simple to use, responsive, and transparent.

The head of state encourages citizens to make greater use of these platforms, enabling the government to “address the challenges of modernisation.” He also insists on the importance of incorporating regional and international dimensions into the digitalisation process, so that the country can “better seize the development and growth opportunities offered by digital technologies.” For President Assimi Goita, this initiative should be able to more effectively combat corruption and the illegal increase of assets.
