    Foundational roots and early growth

Established in 1996 as the data centre division of LINKdotNET, Link Datacenter (LDC) emerged at the dawn of the digital revolution. Initially, the company’s focus was on providing essential data centre services, but soon, the potential for expansion became evident. Riding the wave of the internet boom, LDC quickly positioned itself as a key player in the Middle Eastern market, leveraging strategic mergers and acquisitions to broaden its portfolio. By partnering with industry leaders like Microsoft and GPX, LDC ensured that its services reached clients across the region through its network of regional offices.

During the early 2000s, LDC seized opportunities presented by the burgeoning internet sector. The company became the preferred data hosting partner for prominent internet firms such as Yallakora, ConnectAds, and ARPU Plus. As the customer base grew, so too did LDC’s reputation for excellence, attracting household names like Mazzika, Masrawy, and Otlob, which collectively garnered millions of online visits each day. This period marked a transformative phase for LDC, as it evolved from a niche provider into a comprehensive data solution hub.

    Strategic consolidation and technological leap

The turn of the decade brought significant changes for LDC. In 2010, the parent company LINKdotNET was acquired by Mobinil, which was later absorbed by Orange, a leading telecommunications operator. This pivotal moment led to the formation of OTVentures, a group encompassing LDC along with other entities such as Link Development, ConnectAds, and ARPU Plus. This consolidation introduced LDC to cutting-edge technologies and expanded its client base, solidifying its position as a premier data centre provider.

Over the subsequent years, LDC has continued to innovate and adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape. Today, boasting over two and a half decades of experience, LDC offers a diverse array of services and products tailored to meet the specific needs of businesses operating in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). Its customer portfolio includes enterprises, corporations, and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
