Etisalat Misr commenced operations in the Egyptian market in May 2007, marking its entry with a series of achievements. The company was the first operator to introduce high-quality 3.5G services and later pioneered the introduction of 4G services without the need for customers to replace their SIM cards. This was accompanied by continuous network improvements.

Etisalat Misr offers premium international services, ensuring its customers benefit from competitive rates for calls to all countries worldwide. It also provides high-speed internet services for homes through ADSL and has launched fixed landline services, becoming the first fully digital operator in the process.

Chairman of Etisalat Misr: A driving force behind the firm’s success

Gamal El Sadat has been the chairman of Etisalat Misr since its inception in 2007. He spearheaded the acquisition of the company’s operating licence, making it the third mobile operator in Egypt. Under his leadership, the company has achieved a series of milestones, often surpassing expectations. El Sadat played a pivotal role in the acquisition of two prominent Internet service providers in Egypt, EgyNet and Nile Online.

Beyond his contributions to Etisalat Misr, El Sadat is actively involved in enhancing the Egyptian economy and fostering business and investment ties between Egypt and the UAE. He currently serves as the chairman of the Egyptian Emirati Business Council, established by a decree from the Minister of Industry and Trade in February 2019.

El Sadat’s professional journey spans over four decades, during which he has established and managed several successful businesses both domestically and internationally. Before launching Etisalat Misr, he began his career as an engineering consultant in 1979 and subsequently became a board member of Osman Group. In 1986, he participated in the Bankers Training Program at Chase Bank in the United States, earning an Investment Banking License. He then joined Furman Selz as an investment banker and established the Middle East Department. Returning to Osman Group in 1992, he served as managing director of Techno Mechani, he founded the Mashreq Investment Group.

El Sadat holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Cairo University, which he obtained in 1979.
