As the nerve centre of Malawi’s digital evolution, the Department of E-Government is dedicated to spearheading, coordinating, and managing the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across all governmental echelons. The department plays a pivotal role in enhancing public service delivery through the implementation of innovative and efficient e-government solutions, thereby amplifying the impact of ICTs on the Malawi Growth Development Strategy (MGDS) objectives.

Empowering governments and citizens through technology

The Department of E-Government is committed to delivering cutting-edge e-government solutions and services that not only optimise the delivery of public services but also align with and advance the goals outlined in the Malawi Growth Development Strategy. With a specialised team comprising five distinct sections, including Government Network Infrastructure and Application Development Support, the department possesses the expertise and resources to support a wide range of e-government initiatives.

The focus of the Department of E-Government extends beyond the mere implementation of technology. Through rigorous policy planning research, the department ensures that its solutions are strategically aligned with government objectives, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in governance. Furthermore, the ICT Training and Administration section plays a pivotal role in equipping government officials with the necessary skills to leverage technology effectively and manage e-government projects with proficiency.

Through its concerted efforts, the Department of E-Government aims to modernise government operations, improve citizen access to services, and promote transparency and accountability in governance. By harnessing the power of technology, the department is paving the way for a more responsive and citizen-centric government that empowers individuals and drives positive change for the betterment of society as a whole.

About Department of E-Government

The Department exists to lead, coordinate and manage ICT development at all levels, including the delivery of innovative and efficient e-government solutions and services for the improvement of delivery of public services and maximising impact of ICTs on the achievement of Malawi Growth Development Strategy goals. The Department consists of five sections namely; Government Network Infrastructure, Application Development Support, Policy Planning Research, ICT Training and Administration.
