Congo Telecom educates police cadets on cybersecurity practices

On 31 July 2024, Congo Telecom welcomed a delegation of the 5th promotion of police commissioners at its headquarters in Brazzaville. The event was designed to educate future police leaders on cybersecurity and digital investigation techniques, which are becoming increasingly vital in law enforcement.

Cadets learn digital investigation at Congo Telecom

Congo Telecom’s initiative to host the police cadets reflects its commitment to supporting national security through education on modern digital threats. The session opened with Franck Koubemba, Director of Engineering and Projects at Congo Telecom, delivering a welcome speech. The cadets then attended an in-depth presentation on cybersecurity, highlighting the importance of staying updated in this fast-evolving field. Yves Castanou, Director General of Congo Telecom, emphasised, “It is vital that the forces of order stay up-to-date in this sector to remain effective and face the modern challenges of digital security.”

Aristy Tshipumpu, a cybersecurity expert at Congo Telecom, shared his insights on digitalisation and cybersecurity, discussing the company’s digital investigation methods and showcasing their security operations centre. The visit concluded with the cadets touring Congo Telecom’s facilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the company’s strategic efforts under its “TRANSFORM” plan.
