According to Khoury, the company’s growth strategy aligns with the vision set by Monty Holding’s Chairman, Mr. Mountasser Hachem, who has pledged nationwide internet coverage through Comium’s network. The company already operates 18 outlets and showrooms, with plans to establish even more, including locations at the airport.

The company has heavily invested in enhancing its network infrastructure, utilising Gamtel fiber optics and microwave technology to ensure optimal performance. Comium also boasts The Gambia’s first 5G-ready native cloud, positioning it advantageously for future technological advancements.Despite these advancements, the telecommunications industry faces significant challenges. Rising equipment and operational costs are squeesing profit margins, while regulatory and stakeholder pressures demand lower prices. This landscape requires operators like Comium to explore diverse strategies and vertical segments, including fintech and digital transformation, to remain competitive.
