Banking services provided by Bank Gaborone

Bank Gaborone Limited began operations in February 2006 after receiving its banking licence. The bank launched its retail services in September of the same year. It is a subsidiary of the Capricorn Group. The bank operates 12 branches across Botswana. It manages 22 ATMs and around 1,100 point-of-sale machines. Bank Gaborone provides a range of financial products. These include transactional and savings accounts, home loans and vehicle loans. It also supports SMEs through lending and advisory services.

Treasury and foreign exchange services are part of the offering. The bank offers unsecured loans and insurance-related services. Digital banking channels include mobile, internet and ATMs. These services are accessible at all times. The bank is a member of the national deposit insurance scheme. In 2023, the workforce reached over 300 employees. Bank Gaborone serves individual, business and public sector clients. It operates in both urban and rural locations.

Infrastructure and digital banking operations

Bank Gaborone is based in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. It opened its first branch along Pilane Road. It expanded into other major towns and cities over time. The bank uses both traditional and digital platforms. Customers use mobile apps, online portals and SMS alerts. The bank introduced instant card-to-card transfers in Botswana. It was also one of the earliest to offer mobile banking.

Bank Gaborone provides services designed for local markets. These include financial education and community outreach. Its corporate division supports SME and large business clients. Services include trade finance, foreign exchange and asset management. The ATM network offers both deposit and withdrawal services. The bank runs technical support to maintain uptime. Digital services allow access across multiple devices. The company continues to invest in its technology and infrastructure. It aims to grow its reach across Botswana through both physical and digital means.
