OpenAI updates ChatGPT with GPT-4 Turbo
ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular AI-powered chatbot, just got a big update, becoming more direct and less verbose. OpenAI announced the update today, that users of ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscriptions can now leverage the advanced capabilities of GPT-4 Turbo. This new model, dubbed “GPT-4-turbo-2024-04-09”, promises improvements in various areas such as writing, mathematics, logical reasoning, and coding.
“When writing with ChatGPT [with the new GPT-4 Turbo], responses will be more direct, less verbose, and use more conversational language,” OpenAI writes in a post on X.

Recent controversies and personnel issues raise concerns
However, this upgrade comes amidst a challenging period for OpenAI. Just days before the announcement, reports emerged alleging that Microsoft proposed the OpenAI’s DALL-E text-to-image within OpenAI, which has raised concerns about internal stability and transparency.
The timing of the upgrade coincides with OpenAI’s broader efforts to expand its AI offerings. The company recently launched new models, including GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, which integrates image understanding capabilities into its text-based AI.
