bitCONNECT sharpens South Africa ISP with security add-ons

  • bitCONNECT lists Openserve, Vumatel, Frogfoot, MetroFibre, Zoom and Evotel access, plus WhatsApp support and CECS/CECNS licences.
  • ASN data shows Bitconnect Pty Ltd as AS328952 with peers and NAPAfrica Johannesburg presence at 10 Gbps.

bitCONNECT broadens offer for homes and SMEs

bitCONNECT pitches “uncapped, unshaped” fibre alongside fixed-wireless and VoIP. The homepage publishes phone and WhatsApp numbers, sales and support emails, and notes operator licences CECS 1515/CECS/MAR/2020 and CECNS 1515/CECNS/MAR/2020.

The site promotes Intrinsic Protection, a DNS-layer bundle that blocks trackers and malicious domains, with a free basic tier on every line.  The brand is South African and unrelated to the defunct. Operationally, Bitconnect Pty Ltd appears as AS328952, with AFRINIC resources and dozens of peers.Public IXP data lists Bitconnect at NAPAfrica Johannesburg on a 10 Gbps port, underscoring a strategy to shorten hops to clouds, CDNs and local networks.

bitCONNECT and peering: Keeping traffic local

The portfolio also includes Qurtuba Fibre for the Orchards area in Linbro Park, alongside packages on partner last-mile networks such as Openserve, Vumatel, Frogfoot, MetroFibre, Zoom and Evotel.

South Africa’s connectivity market rewards providers that mix access paths and layer security. Load-shedding and long-haul costs make redundancy and on-net resolution attractive, while households and SMEs expect clear SLAs and fast support.

bitCONNECT’s recipe—resold fibre where ducts exist, wireless where they do not, VoIP add-ons and DNS security—fits that profile, and its peering footprint aims to keep traffic local for latency and cost reasons.
