    • ISOCEL Telecom expands fibre and wireless internet in Benin, offering reduced fees and free first month to new users.
    • Backed by €20m, it aims to reach 500k homes, addressing connectivity gaps in Cotonou and driving Benin’s digital growth.

ISOCEL Telecom powers Cotonou’s broadband access

ISOCEL Telecom operates from Cotonou in Benin and offers unlimited, private fibre-optic internet alongside wireless services like BLR (Boucle Locale Radio) and VSAT. The company has reduced installation charges by more than 50 % and launched promotions that include a free first month for new subscribers. Since beginning operations in 2008, ISOCEL has deployed over 90 km of fibre in Cotonou’s commercial district. It already serves nearly 500 clients and plans to expand to 500 000 homes, backed by €20 million in funding. Its services support both high-speed downloads and secure data transmission.

ISOCEL telecom within Benin’s digital transformation

Benin’s telecom sector faces hurdles such as uneven rural coverage and limited fixed-line infrastructure. National growth in digital services and fibre demand is rising, driven by online work, streaming and e-commerce. ISOCEL’s build-out of private fibre plus wireless options helps fill gaps where mobile networks fall short. Its online self-service platform, ISOPAY, simplifies subscription management and payment—a step toward modernising customer experience. With support from public financing agencies like Bpifrance, ISOCEL contributes to more inclusive internet access in Benin’s urban centres.
