What happened: RIPE NCC publishes announcement of SEE 13th meeting

The RIPE NCC has announced that its SEE 13 meeting will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on April 7-8, 2025. This event aims to bring together industry professionals, including network engineers and technology experts, to discuss regional issues and share knowledge.

The conference is open to all, with free registration available for participants. It will feature a range of technical sessions focusing on topics such as IPv6 deployment, DNS and IXP operations, routing, RPKI, internet governance, and data centre technologies. These sessions will provide an opportunity for attendees to engage with current trends and challenges within the industry.

Beyond the technical discussions, the meeting is intended to support regional collaboration and knowledge exchange among operators. It also aims to provide a space for discussing the future of internet technologies and the development of internet infrastructure in South-East Europe. The event is positioned as a platform for networking and learning, with the potential to influence strategies within the region.

Why it’s important

The SEE 13 meeting is important for network professionals in South-East Europe. It provides a chance to address regional challenges and exchange insights. The event will focus on improving collaboration among operators.

Topics like IPv6 deployment and RPKI implementation will be key discussions. These areas reflect ongoing efforts to tackle technical and governance issues in the region’s internet infrastructure. As South-East Europe continues to develop its digital capabilities, these topics are crucial for aligning with global standards. Operators are focused on improving network security and efficiency, and discussions at SEE 13 may influence future strategies.

The event is also part of a broader trend towards diversity and collaboration in the tech industry. It aims to encourage dialogue among different stakeholders. While SEE 13 will offer insight into the state of internet governance, it will also highlight the challenges of fostering regional cooperation in an increasingly connected world.
