Nokia has joined forces with Finnish broadcaster Digita and event tech firm CoreGo to introduce mobile private 5G networks tailored for large-scale public events. The new initiative integrates Nokia’s Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) with CoreGo’s point-of-sale systems, providing a dedicated wireless infrastructure designed to optimise operations such as inventory control, ticket validation, access management, and on-site payments.
The deployment is handled by Digita and can be relocated to various venues, ensuring flexibility for organisers hosting multiple events. According to the partners, the implementation of private 5G networks allows seamless and secure real-time data transfer—essential for ticket scanning, digital signage, and staff communications in fast-paced environments.
The benefits extend further into fan engagement and operational intelligence. Edge cloud processing integrated into the solution facilitates geo-location-based services and advanced analytics in real time. Michael Aspinall, Nokia’s Head of Sales for Enterprise Campus Edge in Europe, said the technology “proves its capability in securing reliable data transmission at large events.” Digita’s Pekka Koskinen added that the collaboration supports their expansion into Nordic markets with scalable, high-quality solutions.
