  • Orange Bank is negotiating the sale of its fintech subsidiary, Anytime, to Crédit Coopératif to streamline operations and focus on core services.
  • The acquisition would enhance Crédit Coopératif’s digital offerings for professionals and associations, strengthening its market position.

What happened: Orange Bank negotiates sale of Anytime to Crédit Coopératif

Orange Bank is currently in discussions to sell its fintech subsidiary, Anytime, to Crédit Coopératif. This move comes as part of Orange Bank’s strategy to streamline its operations and focus on core banking services. Anytime, founded in 2014, offers digital account management and payment solutions specifically designed for professionals and associations.

Acquired by Orange Bank in 2020, Anytime has developed tools aimed at enhancing expense management for non-profit organisations. The negotiations have reached an advanced stage, with both parties signing a memorandum of understanding. This potential acquisition aligns with Crédit Coopératif’s strategic plan to expand its digital offerings and strengthen its position in the market for associations.

Why it’s important

The potential acquisition of Anytime by Crédit Coopératif signifies a strategic shift in the fintech landscape, particularly in how traditional banks approach digital service offerings. As competition intensifies among financial institutions, especially in the realm of digital banking, this acquisition allows Crédit Coopératif to enhance its portfolio and cater to a growing segment of professional users and non-profits seeking tailored financial solutions.

In recent years, the demand for digital banking services has surged, driven by the increasing need for flexible and efficient financial management tools. This trend is evident across the industry, with numerous fintech firms emerging to meet these needs. By integrating Anytime’s capabilities, Crédit Coopératif positions itself to better serve associations and small organisations, fostering deeper customer loyalty and engagement.
