    • ARIN has named its first Fellowship Selection Committee to evaluate candidates for ARIN 56, scheduled for 30–31 October 2025 in Texas.
    • The committee’s work may increase diversity at ARIN meetings, but its success will depend on transparent selection and the actual influence of appointed fellows.

What happened: ARIN names fellowship committee for ARIN 56 meeting

ARIN revealed the members of its inaugural Fellowship Selection Committee for ARIN 56, the next Public Policy and Members Meeting slated for 30–31 October 2025 in Arlington, Texas. The volunteer committee, drawn from ARIN staff, Trustees, and community representatives, will evaluate candidates chosen to bring diverse perspectives and increase participation in the meeting’s governance discussions. This event supports ARIN’s effort to broaden community engagement.

    Why it’s important

This marks ARIN’s effort to diversify representation at its flagship policy meeting. The effectiveness of this volunteer-driven committee depends on transparent selection criteria and the actual contribution of appointed fellows. The long-term impact will hinge on whether these efforts translate into more inclusive participation and improved decision-making at ARIN events.
