Vodafone Germany launches 5G network slicing tariffs

    • First standardised slicing packages for business clients
    • Options include dedicated private slice and shared entry-level slice

What happened: Vodafone introduces ready-to-use 5G slicing plans for enterprises

Vodafone Germany is the first operator in the country to offer standard tariffs for 5G network slicing aimed at business users. The launch includes two new services: Campus Flex Exclusive and Campus Flex Starter. The Exclusive package gives a company its own private 5G campus network at a chosen site. It supports use cases with heavy data demands—like automated factories or autonomous vehicle control—and delivers speeds of up to 20 Mbps uplink and 80 Mbps downlink, all from a flat rate of €2,000 per month per location.

The Starter option is designed for lighter needs, such as payment systems at trade shows or emergency push-to-talk services. It delivers around 1 Mbps via a shared slice. Customers pay €10 per month for each user on a year-long contract, or €20 with a flexible monthly arrangement. Vodafone stresses these slicing services are easier and faster to deploy than ever.

    Why it’s important

By providing ready-made slicing options, Vodafone is making advanced 5G features accessible to a wider range of businesses. The setup speed and cost clarity remove traditional barriers that limited adoption to large enterprises alone. This shift expands the value of 5G beyond pure speed, allowing secure, reliable, tailored performance for critical applications. It may also serve as a template for other operators aiming to commercialise slicing at scale.
