What happened: Hurricane Electric launches new PoP in Toronto
Hurricane Electric, a global IPv6-native internet service provider, has launched a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Coloware YTZ-1 data centre in Toronto. This is the company’s fifth PoP in Toronto and its 20th in Canada. The YTZ-1 facility holds Tier III+ certification and features robust power backup, advanced cooling systems, round-the-clock security monitoring, and early smoke detection capabilities. It also offers secure cabinet solutions, private space options, and direct fibre optic connections.

It also facilitates improved access to the company’s global network infrastructure which includes over 40,000 BGP sessions and connections to 10,000 networks worldwide. Additionally, the PoP interconnects with 310 internet exchange points and provides extensive peering port options enhancing performance metrics and reducing latency for international data transmissions.
