  • Emitel secures a long-term BTS contract with Orange Polska, committing to build hundreds of new towers to expand mobile network coverage.
  • The agreement supports Emitel’s goal to surpass 1,000 tower sites, contributing significantly to Poland’s 5G network development.

What happened: Emitel signs long-term agreement with Orange Polska to expand mobile network

Emitel, the Polish tower operator owned by Cordiant Digital Infrastructure, has signed a long-term build-to-suit (BTS) contract with Orange Polska. Under the agreement, Emitel will build hundreds of new mobile towers across Poland, with Orange as the anchor tenant. Emitel will also be able to lease space on these towers to other mobile operators, improving the commercial value of each site.

As of December 2024, Emitel operated 762 towers and worked with all four major mobile operators in the country. Since being acquired by Cordiant in 2022, Emitel has grown its tower portfolio by 27%, with a 37% increase in related revenue.

Why it’s important

The agreement supports Cordiant’s goal of expanding Emitel’s network to over 1,000 towers and plays a key role in Poland’s 5G infrastructure rollout. It also reinforces Emitel’s leadership in mobile infrastructure and reflects the rising demand for wider network coverage and data capacity. The new towers will help deliver better service, especially as more users depend on high-speed mobile connectivity.
