  • The MoU aims to create specialised training programmes and career pathways for Emirati nationals in advanced technology and telecommunications.
  • The partnership supports broader Emiratization and digital transformation goals, preparing UAE talent to lead in a rapidly evolving tech economy.

What happened: the agreement focuses on training Emirati talent for future roles in technology and digital services

Dubai Telecom and digital service provider Du has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the UAE Human Resources Development Committee (EHRDC) to strengthen the participation of UAE nationals in technology driven industries. The agreement was signed in Dubai.

According to the memorandum of understanding, Du and EHRDC will work together to develop customized training programs and strategic employment opportunities that meet the actual labor market needs in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) and advanced technology. These initiatives aim to cultivate a group of highly skilled UAE professionals and contribute to the digital transformation of various industries.

This cooperation also emphasizes knowledge sharing and institutional cooperation to ensure that educational outcomes, job skills and employers’ needs are closely linked – a key factor in supporting UAE citizens to achieve sustainable career development.

Why it’s important

The UAE has taken “emiratization” as the core pillar of its economic strategy, striving to improve the participation of UAE citizens in emerging industries (such as technology, digital services and advanced telecommunications). The memorandum of understanding signed with Du, one of the largest telecom operators in the UAE, directly supports this vision by combining labor development with future oriented digital economy jobs.

The agreement focuses on professional training and practical employment channels, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional skills and ensure that UAE talents can be qualified for the posts that support UAE’s continuous innovation and competitiveness.

This coperation also reflects the broader national priorities of the UAE, that is, to prepare for digital transformation and technology driven growth. In these areas, human capital and digital skills are critical to the long-term success of industries.
