  • DataVolt and the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) have signed a deal to build a new AI-ready data centre in Riyadh.
  • The 55,000-square-metre facility will feature state-of-the-art cooling systems and sustainable energy solutions.

What happened: DataVolt partners with MODON for sustainable AI-ready data centre

DataVolt, a leading developer and operator of sustainable digital infrastructure, has announced plans to build an AI-ready data centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON). The 55,000-square-metre facility, located in East Riyadh’s First Technology Park, will be engineered to support advanced AI processing, catering to the growing demand from hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprises in the region.

The data centre will be equipped with cutting-edge cooling systems and an advanced circularity approach to ensure sustainability. It will also be powered by renewable energy solutions, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of diversification and environmental stewardship. DataVolt CEO Rajit Nanda highlighted the project’s significance, stating that it directly supports the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global leader in AI while minimising environmental impact.

The facility will not only support the growing demand for AI processing but also demonstrate the potential for sustainable digital infrastructure.

By integrating renewable energy and advanced cooling systems, DataVolt aims to reduce the environmental impact of data centres while driving innovation in the region. This project aligns with broader global trends of integrating AI and sustainability, highlighting the potential for emerging markets to lead in green technology.
