- Attendees explored AI-driven infrastructure, quantum keynotes and energy sustainability themes.
- LARUS was present among thousands of execs, joining conversations on fiber, AI and data centres.
What the conference revealed
Datacloud USA 2025 took place 16-17 September at the Austin Marriott Downtown. The event attracted hyperscalers, data centre operators, fibre-providers, energy specialists and infrastructure investors. Keynotes addressed the quantum future of digital infrastructure, alongside panels on how AI accelerates hyperscale demands and power constraints in data centres. Participants heard about interconnection strategies, fibre network scaling and investment in sustainable energy.
Workshops showed how operators optimise grid resilience and plan for clean power whilst keeping latency low. Attendees saw cases of edge computing, energy-efficient cooling, and innovations in cloud infrastructure. Over 1,300 people attended, with a large majority in senior roles. The agenda also included Metro Connect Fall to deepen discussions on connectivity and fibre growth. LARUS took part and joined many sessions to share and absorb knowledge.

How the event played out
Speakers consistently emphasised urgency: AI workloads are driving demand for new data centre buildouts and fibre capacity. They stressed power procurement, transmission and grid planning as critical bottlenecks. Investors raised concerns about financing models for speculative builds without tenants. Panels on sustainability explored renewable integration and clean energy strategies. Fibre and connectivity sessions highlighted how latency and throughput must match AI’s needs. Quantum computing speakers clarified its role: complements AI, not replaces existing compute. Attendees made thousands of new connections and deals. Many firms committed to green or resilient infrastructure roadmaps. Overall, Datacloud USA 2025 delivered rich insight, strong networking and fresh ideas for digital infrastructure.
