    Africell Sierra Leone commenced operations in 2005 and has since become a prominent mobile network operator in the country. The company offers a range of services, including voice, data, SMS, and mobile money, catering to over 4 million subscribers. Africell’s network coverage extends to more than 92% of Sierra Leone’s population.

    Headquartered at 1 Pivot Street, Wilberforce, Freetown, Africell operates with a workforce of over 350 employees. The company has played a significant role in the development of Sierra Leone’s telecommunications infrastructure, including the introduction of 3G services in 2011.

    Services and initiatives

    Africell provides a comprehensive suite of services to its customers, encompassing voice tariffs, data bundles, combo bundles, value-added services, eSIM, and 5G connectivity. The company’s mobile money platform, Afrimoney, enables users to transfer money, pay bills, and access other financial services. Afrimoney registration is free and can be completed by dialing *161# or visiting an Africell shop.

    Beyond its commercial operations, Africell is actively involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives across Sierra Leone. The company has invested in education, health, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Africell’s commitment to these areas underscores its role as a responsible corporate entity contributing to the nation’s development.
