  • Aduna, backed by Ericsson and telco members, adds Bouygues Telecom and Free (iliad Group) to its ecosystem.
  • The initiative aims to deliver seamless network APIs based on CAMARA APIs for global use.

What happened: Aduna grows ecosystem in France

Aduna, the network API initiative founded by Ericsson and a consortium of telco members, has expanded its ecosystem in France with the addition of Bouygues Telecom and Free (iliad Group). These operators join Orange France, one of the founding members, in a mission to deliver common network APIs globally. The initiative leverages CAMARA APIs, an open-source project by the GSMA and Linux Foundation, to provide seamless API access to developers and third-party users.

The first two network APIs, SIM Swap and KYC (Know Your Customer), are set to launch in France this spring. Aduna CEO Anthony Bartolo highlighted the importance of in-country collaboration and the project’s global expansion, comparing its significance to that of roaming agreements. Bartolo said, “Aduna is thrilled to provide developers with access to aggregated CAMARA-based network APIs from major operators in France. By making advanced network capabilities more accessible, we’re fostering innovation and empowering enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation.”

Why it’s important

The expansion of Aduna’s ecosystem in France marks a significant step in unlocking new digital innovation opportunities. By collaborating with major network operators like Bouygues Telecom and Free, Aduna aims to simplify access to network APIs, driving digital transformation across industries.

This initiative aligns with global efforts to harmonise individual efforts in a collective push, creating more value and productivity. The addition of operators in France further strengthens Aduna’s mission to act as a “connective tissue” between the API supply and demand side, breaking down barriers nationally and globally.
