    • Carrier Community brings global subsea leaders to Muscat for SIS 2025 from 2–4 November.
    • The summit highlights investment, digital transformation, fibre connectivity, security, and regional subsea growth.

What happened: Carrier Community convenes global subsea leaders in Muscat for SIS 2025

Carrier Community will host the Submarine & Infra Summit (SIS) 2025 in Muscat, Oman, from 2–4 November. The event will bring together more than 300 subsea executives representing over 100 organisations from the regional and international telecom ecosystem. With Muscat positioned as a strategic connectivity hub for the Middle East, the summit offers an ideal stage to discuss the subsea industry’s shifting priorities.

The agenda includes panel discussions, master classes, and networking sessions, providing a platform for leaders to exchange expertise and explore market opportunities. Topics span new business models, investment strategies, digital transformation, ISPs’ evolving roles, fibre cable developments, cybersecurity, peering, and the rise of data centres in the global subsea chain. SIS 2025 will blend in-person and virtual participation, reflecting the hybrid approach that has become central to international conferences.

    Why this is important

Muscat’s emergence as a subsea landing point places Oman at the centre of regional connectivity routes linking Asia, Africa, and Europe. Hosting SIS 2025 reinforces its role in the subsea ecosystem and offers international stakeholders direct access to discussions shaping future infrastructure. The focus on fibre networks, data centres, and security is timely as operators balance rising demand for global capacity with growing risks from cyberattacks and cable disruptions.

Carrier Community’s summits have long been a barometer of industry sentiment, and this year’s Muscat gathering underscores the momentum behind Middle Eastern digital infrastructure. By convening subsea specialists, ISPs, and technology firms, SIS 2025 aims to accelerate investment and highlight collaborative solutions for a more resilient and scalable subsea network. With global demand for bandwidth expected to surge, insights from this summit will influence how carriers and investors align with the region’s connectivity ambitions.
