EEEI: Forging the Future of Engineering in the Philippines

UP EEEI: A Hub of Excellence

Established as a premier institution within the University of the Philippines Diliman, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute (UP EEEI) is dedicated to producing highly skilled engineers equipped to tackle contemporary technological problems. The institute offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs designed to develop engineering design and analytical skills, encourage creativity, and instill ethical principles.

EEEI’s commitment to excellence is evident in its recent achievements. In the October 2024 Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination, UPD graduates secured seven of the top spots, with Patrick John Santisidad leading with a 91.90% rating. Additionally, the institute achieved a 100% passing rate in the Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination.

UP EEEI: Driving Innovation

Beyond EEEI’s strong academic programmes, this institute excels at its leadership in research and innovation. It hosts laboratories supporting various fields, including robotics, signal processing, microelectronics, power systems, solar energy, and wireless communication. All the facilities are open 24/7 to give students and researchers the tools and flexibility they need to push the boundaries of engineering and drive meaningful advancements.

UP EEEI’s research endeavors have led to significant contributions, such as receiving awards at the IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference, Asia Pacific, for work in electric mobility. The institute’s strong focus on research across different fields puts it in a leading position to help solve significant engineering problems worldwide.

The electrical and electronics engineering industry faces significant challenges of the need for sustainable energy solutions and rapid advancements in semiconductor technology. EEEI continues to shape the future of engineering in the Philippines and beyond through its rigorous academic programs and innovative research.​
