SNDI boosts digital capacity through ICT ambassador training
The Société Nationale de Développement Informatique (SNDI) has completed a targeted training session for 15 “digital ambassadors,” selected from various government institutions. Held at its training centre in Abidjan, the programme focused on foundational computer skills and practical use of digital tools in administrative tasks. By equipping these participants with essential IT knowledge, SNDI aims to create internal champions who can foster digital literacy among their peers.
These ambassadors are expected to transfer their skills within their respective departments, helping to accelerate digital transformation across the civil service. According to SNDI, the training was designed in response to the ongoing challenges civil servants face in using IT tools effectively. The initiative is part of SNDI’s mission to bridge digital skill gaps and reinforce the use of government digital platforms for improved public service delivery.

SNDI’s digital role and sector-wide challenges
As detailed in its mission, the SNDI plays a central role in Côte d’Ivoire’s e-governance strategy, overseeing the development, security, and operation of national digital services. It supports ministries and public institutions by deploying information systems that enhance efficiency, transparency, and service accessibility. Its training centre is a critical part of that ecosystem, offering capacity-building to ensure the public sector keeps pace with evolving digital needs.
Despite progress, the agency continues to face challenges, including disparities in digital readiness across institutions and under-resourced IT environments. Many civil servants still lack regular access to structured ICT training. To address this, SNDI has prioritised decentralised education programmes and modernisation of its training infrastructure. These steps are essential to maintaining momentum in the country’s digital transformation agenda and ensuring the long-term effectiveness of public digital services.
