    • The company oversees the Janela Única Electrónica (JUE), centralising import, export and transit processes.
    • Backed by SGS Group, it blends international know-how with local delivery to modernise trade systems.

What SGS MCNet Moçambique Ltd does

SGS MCNet Moçambique Ltd was created as a public–private partnership to simplify Mozambique’s trade environment. Its main responsibility is running the Janela Única Electrónica (JUE), or Single Electronic Window. The platform brings together customs and trade documents that once required multiple forms and long queues.

With that backing, MCNet applies global best practices while working closely with local institutions. It also trains customs officers and trade professionals, ensuring that the technology is supported by the skills needed to keep it effective. Updates from its LinkedIn presence show the group’s broader focus on digitisation and sustainability, themes that are reflected in MCNet’s work in Mozambique.

SGS MCNet Moçambique Ltd matters for trade

In the past, businesses moving goods in and out of Mozambique often struggled with slow procedures, poor infrastructure and heavy paperwork. MCNet has introduced a single digital platform that reduces these obstacles. By automating checks and centralising documentation, it has cut delays, lowered costs and built greater transparency. The reforms also secure more revenue for the state and open clearer routes for companies into international markets.

What is happening in Mozambique mirrors a wider push across Africa, where electronic customs and risk-based digital systems are gaining ground. As the government seeks to grow exports and attract investment, MCNet’s role has become critical. The mix of SGS’s international experience and local delivery capacity makes it a central player in the country’s digital trade transformation.
