Company overview and regulatory standing

REALTIME Communications, formerly Meridict Systems, is a South African-owned electronic communications services provider. It is registered as a South African company and holds ECS licences issued by the national regulator. The company has both non-geographic and geographic number allocations in line with national numbering regulations. It operates under a B-BBEE EME status and is locally controlled by professionals of indigenous African descent. REALTIME delivers services to both metropolitan and rural communities, including corporates, households, and organised groups. The company is positioned to increase high-speed broadband internet penetration across diverse demographic areas. It maintains regulatory compliance and leverages its licence status to support voice, data, and infrastructure services throughout the country.

Service portfolio and sector reach

REALTIME Communications offers a wide spectrum of services across telecommunications and ICT sectors. These include VoIP (Voice over IP), data transfer, fixed/mobile convergence, voice and video conferencing, TV calling, email, eHealth, and bulk SMS solutions. In addition, the company provides bandwidth and network management, website hosting, cellular backhaul, eGovernment infrastructure, remote tracking and monitoring, disaster recovery, and surveillance services. For video offerings, REALTIME supports IPTV, video-on-demand, HDTV, catch-up TV, 3D, interactive TV, and multimedia streaming. These services are tailored for both commercial entities and personal users, contributing significantly to digital access across South Africa’s urban and rural areas.
