  • Real Image Internet has evolved into a key independent ISP and IT solution provider in Eswatini.
  • The ICT sector in Eswatini faces infrastructure limits, cost and rural gaps though wireless and web tools show promise.

Real Image Internet’s evolution and service breadth

Real Image Internet began in 1991 offering computer graphics and CAD services. It then added Internet connectivity, web publishing, e-commerce, hosting, software and app development, plus hardware and software retail. The firm started online and connectivity services in 1995. In 1998 it added a business consultancy arm. In 2008 Real Image led the way by introducing uncapped ADSL services in Eswatini. In 2015 it deployed a carrier-grade wireless network that now supports hundreds of home users and corporates. Its working code values include respect, innovation, integrity and putting people first.

On its expertise side, the company offers services in internet, web, content management and databases; corporate network planning for LAN, WAN and wireless; routing and remote access systems; Cisco, Intel and Linux server support; Windows server and Azure hybrid setups; Linux services; virtual machine tech; and firewall setup and maintenance using Fortigate, SonicWall, Sophos and Cisco platforms. All technical staff are certified in areas such as A+, N+, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP and RHCE.

Real Image Internet within Eswatini’s ICT landscape

Real Image operates as an independent internet service provider and IT solutions company in Mbabane, Eswatini. It serves individuals, businesses and public bodies with connectivity, web, hosting and IT support. The firm plays a steady role in the sector, especially where others may hesitate.

In the broader context, Eswatini’s ICT sector faces slow fibre rollout, costs that limit access, and lower uptake in rural zones. Connectivity can be uneven and skills vary. Yet providers like Real Image help through wireless access and web tools like hosting and CMS for businesses.

The company’s use of carrier-grade wireless helps fill gaps in fixed-line reach. Its web publishing and hosting services allow local organisations to go online with design, CMS, hosting and SEO support. Packages range from basic (100 MB space, 2 emails) to enterprise (500 MB, 10 emails) with support for SSL, firewalls and scripting.

Recent innovations centre on the wireless rollout, making broadband more reachable in areas the fixed network does not serve. The firm’s longstanding push for uncapped ADSL remains important for affordability. Its full design and hosting service helps local institutions establish a solid online presence. Real Image thus combines traditional ISP strength with IT support and web services.
