Netelligent strengthens SMEs infrastructure in South Africa

Netelligent Consulting cc was founded in 2011 and serves SMEs from its base in KwaZulu-Natal with security, cloud, web hosting and recovery services.

The South African IT services industry must deal with rising cyber risks, demand for resilient cloud platforms and regulatory rules; Netelligent meets that with Sophos alliances and local Tier 4 data-centre hosting.

Netelligent Consulting cc’s services and partnerships

Netelligent Consulting cc is a close corporation that began in May 2011 in South Africa, which is located in the Links Building at 2 Golf Course Drive, Mount Edgecombe, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. It aims to help small and medium-sized businesses improve their IT systems, networks, cloud usage and security. It uses the motto “Working IT, Living IT, Loving IT” to show its passion for IT.

Netelligent offers many services under names like NetelliSec and NetelliCloud. Its NetelliSec unit gives cybersecurity services by using Sophos technologies. It is a Sophos Platinum Partner, top in KwaZulu-Natal and top enterprise partner in South Africa for 2024. It provides Managed SOC and MDR services for 24/7 threat detection, as well as firewall, antivirus, VPN, threat protection and reporting features. It also offers user training in security so staff know how to stay safe.

On the other side, NetelliCloud covers cloud infrastructure, IaaS, web design and hosting, email, VOIP, backup, domain name services and more. These run in a South Africa-based Tier 4 datacentre, using Dell hardware, NVMe SAN storage and fast networking. They also manage major Internet peering and run their own ASN for low-latency access.

They offer disaster recovery and business continuity planning with BDR systems, cloud redundancy, SD-WAN, and multiple datacentre locations to keep operations running under attack or failure. They also offer domain registration as an accredited ZACR registrar and voice and web services.

    Industry context, challenges and innovations

South Africa’s IT service sector is under pressure from increasing cyber threats, business demands for always-on systems, and the need to host data locally under regulation. Firms must build resilience while keeping costs in check. Netelligent responds by using local Tier 4 infrastructure, partnered security, and proactive monitoring and training to prevent attacks and recovery delays.

They also innovate by offering scalable cloud and hosting services, making use of peering at major exchanges and their own ASN to improve performance and control. They integrate cloud, security and continuity tools so clients do not need multiple vendors or worry about coordination.
