    MWIT wins awards in WIOF 2024 Innovation Competition

    • Students from Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (MWIT) won prizes in the online International Innovation and Invention Competition of the 6th World Invention Olympiad 2024 (WIOF).
    • A total of 92 teams and 179 people from 12 countries including Kuwait, the Republic of China, and Korea participated in the event.
    • The event aims to provide a showcase for youth, researchers and inventors from all over the world to invite students, researchers or inventors to work, invent and innovate in order to develop creative thinking skills and recognise the importance of intellectual property.

    Six gold MEDALS and a special award

    Students from Mahidol Wittayanusorn School won six gold MEDALS and a special award at the 6th World Invention Olympiad 2024 (WIOF) online International Innovation and Invention Competition, which was held online on April 30, 2024.

    Korea Invention News (KINEWS), an organisation focused on developing and promoting the potential of science and innovation for students, researchers and inventors at home and abroad, has partnered with the ASEAN Association for the Promotion of Invention, the Korea Institute of Invention (KIA) and the International Association of Inventions. The International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) has organised the online international Innovation and Invention competition, the 6th World Olympic Exposition of Inventions 2024 (WIOF), which aims to provide youth, researchers and inventors from all over the world with a showcase opportunity to invite students, researchers or inventors to work, invent and innovate. To develop creative thinking skills and recognise the importance of intellectual property. A total of 92 teams and 179 people from 12 countries including Kuwait and Korea participated in the event.

    Awards received by MWIT

    The Mahidol Wittayanusorn School selected student projects to present their work, with a total of 6 projects, and received awards as follows:

    1.Chemistry Topic Project: “Synthesis of Ni-Cu bimetallic catalysts on N-doped carbon supports for ethanol dehydrogenation: Experimental and theoretical studies.” 6/9 student and Mathayom 6/9 student Ms Sidarat Subongkot with chemistry teacher Dr Saroj Bunseng. Gold Award and KIA Special Award as Project Consultant (Korea Institute of Invention: KIA)

    2. Chemistry Topic Project: “Development of 4-in-1 AI models for predicting and classifying toxicological evaluation of drugs through molecular structure analysis and stacked ensemble Learning.” Mr. Suraphong Bunsom, Mahayom 6 student /3 Work by Mr. Chayaphon Kaewchaicaroenkit “Mathayom 6/3 student and Ms. Panisara Chamnansin (Mahayom 6/4 student) with chemistry subject teacher Saroj Dr Bunseng and Dr Srisongkram, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Technology. Department of Pharmacy Khon Kaen University as project consultants, students received the Gold Medal and the Taiwan CIIS Special Award (China Association of Innovation and Invention: CIIS).

    3. Chemistry discipline project “Using solar heat and silica infiltration to purify fresh water from seawater.” Works by Ms. Peeraya Saejia, Mahayom 6/4 student, Ms. Kantharat Pinpisit, Mahayom 6/10 student, and Mr. Supakorn Wongkulap, Mathayom student, 6/3 student, With chemistry teacher Dr. Usa Jeenjankit. As a student project advisor, he received Gold Medal and Special Award of IAIA Taiwan (International Union of Innovation and Invention Associations: IAIA).

    4. Chemistry discipline project: “Search for possible substances for the prevention of hypertension in preeclampsia by developing a human umbilical vein model.” Works by Mr. Natchapon Panich, Mahayom 6/6 student, and Mr. Rati Mahamongkol, Mathayom 6/6 student. Mathayom 6/6 and Mathayom 6/8 student Ms. Wachiraya Yongkulwanit with chemistry teacher Dr. Kiattiphum Rodphan. As a student project advisor, he received the Gold Medal and AICA Special Award (Asian Association of Invention and Creativity: AICA).

    • Chemistry theme project “Bone scaffolds using chitosan, alginate, hydroxyapatite and K-carrageenan”, Mr. Suwaphat Suebbanjakul, Mahayom 6/10 student; Mr. Pannapong Keeratiananporn, Mahayom 6/10 student; and Nattawara Yamprasert, Mathayom student Ms. Work 6/1 student, together with chemistry teacher Dr. Narongsak Khunraksa and Assistant Professor Dr. Nattawut Chaiyut from the School of Engineering and Industrial Technology. Thai University of the Arts acted as project advisor and the students received a Gold Medal and AIA Special Award (Asian Invention Association: AIA).
    • Arts theme project: “A web application for organising travel planning using the principles of travel logistics in the field of mass Rapid Transit services.” Work by Mr. Kittithat Thianphothiwat, Mathayom 6/4 student. Mathayom 6/4 student and Mathayom 6/4 student Mr. Prachawiroon Pethai with Dr. Sirirat Phongpipattanaphan Arts teacher as student project advisor received Gold Medal and KIA Special Award (Korea Institute of Invention: KIA).
