AnyConnect bolsters Angola’s digital infrastructure ambition

    • AnyConnect, Angola’s premier INACOM‑certified Tier III data‑centre operator, is investing in enterprise-grade connectivity solutions.
    • The operator has signed a $60 million MOU with Visium Technologies to expand digital infrastructure via data centres, fibre networks, and disaster recovery facilities.

    AnyConnect expands its telecom footprint

AnyConnect Telecommunications Ltd is a licensed Angolan operator regulated by INACOM, offering services across fibre‑optic networks, LTE, satellite, and video‑on‑demand platforms to deliver secure connectivity. The company’s Tier III data‑centre infrastructure positions it as the operator of choice for enterprise clients seeking high-availability services.

AnyConnect leads a $60 million digital expansion

On 28 July 2025, AnyConnect signed a non-binding MOU with US-based Visium Technologies for a US $60 million digital infrastructure initiative, including expanding Tier III data centres, building a disaster recovery facility in Lubango, and deploying a 1,500 km fibre-optic network along the Lobito Corridor, with a focus on knowledge transfer, workforce training, and enhancing Angola’s digital sovereignty and regional connectivity.

Industry context: meeting Angola’s digital infrastructure needs

Angola’s telecom landscape has undergone liberalisation since 2001, yet it remains challenged by uneven broadband access, costly deployments, and competition with legacy public services like Angola Telecom. AnyConnect’s multi-technology approach—leveraging fibre, LTE, and satellite—is helping to fill these gaps. Its alignment with pan-African digital sovereignty goals mirrors broader regional efforts to shift from extractive models toward locally driven infrastructure development.
The proposed infrastructure expansion underlines a transition from foundational connectivity to resilient, enterprise-grade systems. If realised, the combination of new data centres, disaster resilience facilities, and expanded fibre networks could drastically elevate digital inclusion, economic integration, and technological capacity in Angola and the wider Southern Africa region.
