    • INTIC develops ICT policy, regulation and training to expand digital access in Mozambique.
    • The institute addresses challenges of infrastructure, skills and digital security.

    INTIC guides Mozambique’s ICT development

INTIC, the Instituto Nacional de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação, is Mozambique’s national body for ICT regulation and policy. It is responsible for areas such as digital governance, cybersecurity, training, and support for innovation.

On its LinkedIn page, INTIC explains that its role is to make digital access more inclusive and affordable, while making sure the country’s strategies keep pace with global standards. The institute also invests in capacity building.

INTIC tackles challenges and promotes innovation

Mozambique’s ICT sector is expanding, but problems remain. Extending infrastructure is costly, rural areas still lack reliable access, and many institutions do not have enough trained ICT staff. On top of this, security and regulatory questions are becoming harder to ignore as more services move online.

INTIC’s answer has been to create frameworks for digital inclusion and e-government, and to raise public awareness about ICT. It works with partners like MoRENet to widen broadband access for schools and universities, making sure education and research benefit from the digital shift.

The institute also pays attention to global changes. Cloud services, digital IDs, e-learning and fintech platforms are becoming part of everyday life. INTIC guides these developments by encouraging adoption but also putting rules in place to protect users and national interests.
