Under the terms of the agreement, both entities will integrate home-grown technologies from Dagang Net with global capabilities from KTNET. Key focus areas include the development of Port Community Systems, Electronic Customs, and IT Consultancy services.

    Enhanced trade ecosystem

The partnership will witness the amalgamation of technologies in areas such as Integrated Risk Management System, Customs Cargo Management and Clearance System, Port Community System, Customs Processing and Analytics/Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, Blockchain, and Consultancy services.

Strategic vision for trade facilitation services

According to Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Executive Chairman of DNeX, the collaboration is geared towards jointly developing trade facilitation services with advanced features, harnessing the technological capabilities of both entities to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the trade ecosystem.

“This partnership allows us to work with KTNET to expedite transformation of the trade ecosystem, capitalising on our capabilities, breadth and depth of offerings and technologies, and backed by our proven track records,” remarked Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.

He further emphasised the necessity of embedding innovation in service and product offerings, with the partnership with KTNET serving as a significant step towards this objective.

    Dagang Net & KTNET

Since its inception in 1989, Dagang Net has spearheaded initiatives to introduce and integrate paperless, electronic Customs-related services, streamlining international trading processes for import and export. Notably, Dagang Net has operated the National Single Window (NSW) for Trade Facilitation for Malaysia since 2009, facilitating electronic Customs-related transactions, duty payments, and electronic document transfers among its trading community members.

KTNET, on the other hand, is South Korea’s national paperless trade infrastructure operator, responsible for implementing and operating the uTradeHub Platform in collaboration with the Korean government. Drawing from its extensive experience, KTNET has successfully implemented e-customs systems in various countries.
