DGDA chief inspects Kongo Central, awards trainee certificates

On 16 June 2024, Bernard Kabese Musangu, the Director General of Customs and Excise (DGDA), visited the Kongo Central customs province to oversee service operations and present certificates to trainees who completed the basic customs training. This visit highlights the importance of staff training within DGDA’s strategic framework.

Inspection and certification ceremony in Kongo Central

On Sunday, 16 June 2024, Mr. Bernard Kabese Musangu, Director General of the Direction Générale des Douanes et Accises (DGDA), conducted an inspection tour of the Kongo Central customs province. The purpose of the visit was twofold: to review the functioning of customs services and to personally hand over certificates to those who successfully completed the basic customs training program. This initiative is part of DGDA’s broader strategy to enhance the skills and capabilities of its personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the challenges of modern customs operations.

About Direction Générale des Douanes et Accises (DGDA)

The Direction Générale des Douanes et Accises (DGDA) is the governmental agency responsible for customs and excise duties in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Tasked with regulating the flow of goods in and out of the country, the DGDA plays a critical role in national revenue collection and economic security. Under the leadership of Mr. Bernard Kabese Musangu, the DGDA has prioritised the continuous training and development of its staff. The basic customs training program is a key element in this strategy, aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with international standards.
