  • JLL has guided Damac Digital through the purchase of land in Cikarang, West Java, for a next-generation AI data centre.
  • The data centre industry in Southeast Asia is expanding rapidly as demand for AI processing, cloud storage and low-latency connectivity grows.

Damac Digital growth and focus

Damac Digital has made an acquisition of a 50,000 m² plot valued at roughly USD 2.3 billion to expand its data centre presence in Indonesia. The upcoming data centre will deliver 144 MW capacity, with completion of the initial phase targeted for 2026. The land purchase was facilitated by JLL Indonesia.

The company’s innovation branch, JLL Technologies, continues to develop tools that help clients manage property assets through analytics and automation. Its venture unit, JLL Spark, invests in technology start-ups advancing energy efficiency, predictive maintenance and sustainable building management.

Industry context and challenges

Indonesia’s data centre sector is among the busiest in Asia, driven by the twin forces of AI computing and fast-growing e-commerce activity. Construction projects are expanding across Java and Sumatra as operators race to meet capacity needs. Yet investors still face high upfront costs, complex licensing procedures, and sustainability obligations linked to power use and water consumption.

JLL’s involvement in the Damac Digital initiative shows how property advisory is evolving to serve the digital economy. By blending its long experience in real estate transactions with technical insight into energy and network infrastructure, JLL provides a bridge between developers, regulators and global investors shaping Southeast Asia’s connected future.
